ABOUT US

My Father John is a documentary that filmmaker Kel Mcqueen made after realizing that she did not know one woman that had a father in their lives. She then realized that again like herself they were all making the same decisions and all had the same misguided opinion about men. So she decided to make a documentary that touched on the importance of a little girl having a father in her life and how it can affect her once she becomes a woman. Kel Mcqueen interviews Natasha Jackson, Sade Doyle, and Jamilla Anderson, three different women from three different walks of life and all three explain how their relationships with their fathers have affected them as women from childhood to adulthood. My Father John Doe speak about how the absent father has become a trend in America and has become something that is normal. Kel Mcqueen how a little girls first introduction to a man is her father and how the relationship with her father throughout her life molds how she treats and how she is treated by the male species.
